Fall on the Farm

There are so many things that announce the fall season such as cooler weather, shorter days, fall foliage, and pumpkin spice. There are plenty of fun attractions to go to in the fall as well. Visiting a farm is a must-do. A few friends and I took our sons to Washington Farms, located in Bogart, GA recently. Bogart is a little less than a two-hour drive northeast of Atlanta, GA. It was an oddly hot and sunny day for the end of October but we took full advantage of the warm weather.

We spent the full day on the farm and had a chance to do most of the activities. The pumpkin patch is sectioned off from the rest of the farm and doesn’t require paying for admission to explore or to purchase a pumpkin. The zip lining was short but exciting. My son loved the tricycle track and playground. He peddled around until he was exhausted. The wagon ride was scenic and calm. My friends enjoyed going down the mega slide.

We watched the pig race and enjoyed a comedy show by two of the farmers. The petting zoo had baby chicks, hogs, rabbits, goats and a donkey. They were so cute and comfortable with the children. The kids spent a good amount of time on the jump pad, which was expected. The cow train was a great photo op. We ended the day exploring the corn maze and adjacently, the flower garden which had sunflowers and zinnia flowers.

The food options at Washington Farms were good. They have nice fall treats such as kettle corn, homemade strawberry ice cream, apple cider donuts, and apple cider and strawberry slushies. The chicken tenders and fries tasted fresh and organic. I loved their homemade lemonade so much that I went back to purchase more.

What are some of your favorite fall activities?
