It is common practice to measure ourselves against some of our peers, influencers, and leaders. It is unhealthy to constantly measure ourselves against other people. Theodore Roosevelt’s proverb is powerful. Comparison is the thief of joy. It can be fruitless and we are left unhappy when we compare ourselves as a means to self-fulfillment.

How to Lessen the Comparison Occurrences

  1. Affirm yourself daily.
  2. Do not hijack conversations.
  3. Give meaningful compliments.
  4. Take social media breaks regularly.
  5. Listen to understand, not just to reply.
  6. Refrain from giving unsolicited advice.
  7. Acheive your goals at your own realistic rate.
  8. Pray/medidate on affirmations on wholeness.
  9. Find your identity in God by studying the Word.
  10. Share your shortcomings as well as accomplishments.
  11. Stay productive. An idle mind is the devil’s playground.
  12. Mitigate comparing everyone’s experiences with your own.
  13. Praise other people’s accomplishments without comparing them to yours.
