Miami, Florida is one of the most unique tourist destinations in the world! Its tropical weather, stupendous beaches, picturesque night scene, and international ambiance add to its pristine character.
I decided to make a weekend getaway out of going to celebrate my friend Anica’s upcoming nuptials. Anica’s other girlfriends and I delighted in a tea-inspired bridal shower hosted by her sisters. We showered her with love, gifts, and well wishes in our dainty floral sundresses.
The Bayside Marketplace is home to many eclectic shops, restaurants, and souvenir shops. I enjoyed shrimp skewers for lunch at the famous Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant from the movie, Forest Gump. The well-known Indian Banyan tree, which is over a century old, can be enjoyed in the Bayside Marketplace as well.
I purchased a Groupon for a Fiesta Cruises excursion where I went on a festive, double-decker, catamaran boat with about 30 other passengers. Our hour and a half tour consisted of views of celebrity homes and other famous landmarks such as Star Island, The American Airlines Arena, and Fisher Island around South Beach. Two adult drink vouchers were included with admission. It was a nice treat to a serene cruise. Dolphins sporadically graced us in the turquoise water. It was a spectacular sight with the Miami skyline on the horizon. We fed tuna fish to tarpon fish with the Fiesta Cruise company as well. Tarpon fish are ray-finned fish that feed on small fish and crustaceans.
Wynwood Walls, Jungle Island, The Art Deco District, Zoo Miami, The Everglades National Park, Little Haiti, Little Havana, Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue, Miami Seaquarium, Crandon Park, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Olympia Theatre, Lincoln Road Mall, Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, among plenty other attractions also inhabit Miami.
