I often wonder how interesting it is to see animals breed, co-exist, and die as they were created to experience. It is also inspiring to see how, from their genetic makeup, they are completely equipped to survive in their natural habitat and withstand certain weather conditions. It is intriguing how even their coat protects them from the environment they are destined to thrive in.
Like animals, we too are equipped to live as we were designed to live. The difference between the animal kingdom and mankind is free will. Humans have free will to tap into the skills, use the tools, and utilize their brainpower to meet survival needs and identified goals. Willpower also inhibits some people from tapping into their potential because it is, in fact, a choice.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.

Have you ever experienced something for the first time but somehow knew exactly how to behave? You were probably able to do so because you either consciously or subconsciously tapped into your toolbox, so to speak.
I have had that experience plenty of times. Personally, I trust God to guide me and give me discernment as I embark on every novel journey. People find it eerie that I often “know what to do” in new situations but I tell them that they too are fully equipped to handle life’s milestones.
We simply have to be confident in the knowledge of already being equipped. We should also seek to be informed doers versus going towards life aimlessly. Unlike popular belief, ignorance is not bliss. Not always, at least. Being equipped is not congruent with knowing it all or being immune to failure either. It simply means everything is “figureoutable.”
Five Ways to Tap Into Your Toolbox
- Be humble.
- Trust your instincts to guide your decisions.
- Remain sharp on various subjects and cultures.
- Learn from your mistakes and take it easy.
- Plan for the day and for the future.
What is one thing you’ve done for the first time and excelled in? How did the victory make you feel?
